continuing the mileage count

After my 2-day hiatus, I ran 6 on Wednesday and 6 yesterday, but due to dental work done today I did not run. Hope to get in two runs over the weekend, a 4 and a 6...closing at a 22 mile week. Aiming for over 25 for next week. Let's hit that 100 marker for the month!

7 days, deserved break

Well I made it 7 days in a row before needing to give my sore muscles a bit of a break.

But 25 miles the first week, I'm pretty happy with that, especially since I ran on the second day of FYF. Only 2, but still!

6 today, back on it!!

day 5

...will be a short 3...yesterday i did 6 in the hot hot heat! and it felt better than i thought it would. a little sore today, but a small 3 miler will feel good to stretch it out.

couple fours over the weekend, and i'll be one week into my challenge - wish me luck!

day 3...tryin to beat the heat!

did my run at 9 pm tonight in santa monica...it was way too hot every other time of the day...and i just did a shorty 3 miler...still sweating excessively!!

uppin the mileage tomorrow for a 6...hopin i won't get too overheated in the afternoon!

30 Days Goal

Inspired by my friend Heather who ran a seemingly impossible 200+ miles during the 30 days leading up to her wedding, I thought about what I, as a runner, might be able to achieve in 30 days.

As much as I drag my feet some days, I love running. The breath, the sweat, the thump of my heart, the beat of my music...and that endorphin high is unlike any other. I usually get in 3 to 4 runs a week, but this blog will follow the next month of my life (technically 32 days) to see how many miles I might be able to reach. I have a roundabout goal of surpassing 100 miles, but I don't want to give it a number, as much as I'd like to just see if I can get a run in (even a tiny short one) every day for the next month.

So far...

Monday 8/27 - 4 miles
Tuesday 8/28 - 3 miles

This will continue until 9/27 - hopefully ending in a successful challenge for myself!
